Government Relations Chief Is Selected
Patricia Tennyson has been named the City of San Diego’s intergovernmental relations director, a post that coordinates state and federal lobbying efforts for the city.
The appointment of Tennyson, who is the city’s assistant director of financial management, was announced Monday by Mayor Maureen O’Connor. The position had been vacant for 13 months.
Tennyson, 44, will receive $60,000 a year in her new post, which is under the control of the mayor’s office.
She was the assistant IRD director for two years before her former boss, Scott Harvey, resigned in September, 1986, to become a private lobbyist. Tennyson served as acting IRD until February, 1987, when she was transferred to the city’s financial management department.
