There’s No Doubt About It, Cash Is Afraid of Ghosts
Pat Cash fled his hotel room Tuesday, claiming it was being stalked by ghosts.
The 22-year-old Australian said he was awakened in his darkened room at the Hyatt-Kingsgate by “shuffling sounds and footsteps.”
During a news conference at the Australian Indoor Tennis Championships, Cash said he broke out in a cold sweat and said the weird sounds had him cowering beneath the sheets in terror for almost 45 minutes.
He jumped out of bed and dashed down the hallway in his pajamas to the room of his coach, Ian Barclay. The incident occurred at 7:15 a.m.
“I don’t believe in those sorts of things,” Cash said. “It must have been a ghost. There’s no other explanation. It was the freakiest thing that has ever happened to me in my life. I knew I wasn’t hallucinating, no drugs nor drink or anything like that.
“My room was pitch black and, all of a sudden, I heard some shuffling noises and then some footsteps. I sat up startled but nothing was there. Just when I settled back to my pillow it happened again, a scraping noise and I couldn’t bare to look.”
