Rennet Tablets Have a Whey With Curds

Mrs. Robert Mehnert of Oceanside is seeking Rennet tablets for making junket custard and ice cream; none of the supermarkets or health food stores in her area seems to stock the product. Can you help satisfy Mehnert’s sweet tooth, or will this be too tough a problem and leave her cold?

Regina Rogers of Cypress and several of her friends would love to find some bib-style plastic aprons. Can you spot a few sources for Rogers, or will this be a nip-and-tuck battle with no strings attached?

William Arthur of La Habra needs a Continental model Westinghouse electric range , the type with an eye-level oven and a pull-out, drawer-like burner shelf; his kitchen is designed only for this type of range. Can you help with this hot potato, or will Arthur be burned up because he’s unable to cook up a storm?

Please see to it that Helene’s family is not bored at Christmas. . . . For her grandchildren, Carole at (714) 644-8061 would again like a Kiddie Koop, which is a screened-in baby crib that kept flies and curious siblings away ; she hasn’t seen one in years. Please see to it that nobody flies the coop while visiting Grandma. . . . M. A. Keller at (818) 348-4403 needs to replace a discontinued bathroom sink formerly made by Norris-Thermador ; it is porcelain on steel, 20 by 18 inches with a 1 1/2-inch overhanging lip. Please don’t let Keller experience that sinking feeling in the bathroom any longer.

For Margaret Chada of Huntington Beach, who was seeking small rubber slippers for pool wear, we have a large pool of sources. Marianne Metzger of Westlake Village says the Broadway and some drug stores carry $5.95 nylon mesh slippers with soles of composition rubber; these are used mainly for showering while traveling but could serve Chada’s purposes. Other places are not within paddling distance. A. D. Disney of Rancho Mirage says the Crescent Department Store in Spokane, Wash., carries a rubber bathing slipper similar to a ballet slipper. And then we have mail-order firms: D. V. Ohnemus of Burbank says Walter Drake & Sons, 56 Drake Building, Colorado Springs, Colo. 80940, has a shower shoe for $8.99; Dorothy Nickerson of Santa Barbara says non-slip footwear at $3.98 is carried by Harriet Carter, Dept. 37, North Wales, Pa. 19455, and Nickerson and Norma Horine of Sepulveda state that a nylon mesh slipper can be had for $5.98 from Miles Kimball, 41 West 8th Ave., Oshkosh, Wis. 54906.
