USC Shoots Down Bulgarian Team, 103-75

Last season, USC was the worst shooting team in the Pacific 10, making just 42% of its shots.

However, if Monday night’s 103-75 exhibition victory over the Bulgarian National Team is any indication, the Trojans may have done something about their shooting problems with the addition of Anthony Pendleton.

Pendleton made 7 of 13 field-goal attempts and led the Trojans with 21 points. All seven of his field goals were from three-point range.

USC made 49% of its shots in the game played before 850 at Chapman College.

“I feel like we’re four games into the season,” USC Coach George Raveling said. “I think that’s how long it took us to score 103 points last year. Obviously we have better athletes than last year.”

Pendleton sank consecutive three-pointers as USC took a 6-0 lead before the game was even a minute old. The Trojans never surrendered that advantage and led by as many as 32 points.

Center Chris Munk scored 17 points and had a game-high 10 rebounds. Freshman Calvin Banks had 14 points, all on the inside.
