Local News in Brief : Anaheim : Driver Swerves Into Path of Truck and Is Killed
An Irvine man was killed Friday morning after he lost control of his car on a freeway on-ramp and swerved into the path of a trailer truck, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Edward L. Davidson Jr., 23, was merging from Imperial Highway to the westbound side of the Riverside Freeway at high speed when he stuck an on-ramp light post and swerved, Officer Humphrey Franciscus said.
The truck’s impact was on the driver’s side of the car, Franciscus said.
Two westbound lanes of the Riverside Freeway and the on-ramp were closed for 2 1/2 hours after the 8:20 a.m. accident, Franciscus said.
