- A Japanese one-woman show, “Make-Up,” will make two San Diego County stops in its 12-city U.S. tour--at 8 p.m. Saturday at Carlsbad Community Cultural Arts Center, and next Monday and Tuesday at the Gaslamp Quarter Theatre, 444 4th Ave.

Japanese actress Misako Watanabe will perform in Hisashi Inoue’s story about an actress switching back and forth between real life and preparations for her roles. Watanabe, who won Japan’s highest distinction for dramatic art in 1979, was awarded “The Best Artistic Contribution of the Year” for her role in “Make-Up.”
