Dave Parker Dealt to Oakland

DALLAS —
The Cincinnati Reds, continuing to rebuild their pitching staff, traded six-time All-Star Dave Parker, 37, to Oakland today for right-handed pitcher Jose Rijo and southpaw Tim Birtsas. The Reds had been looking to deal Parker and his $1.3 million salary for young talent, especially pitching.
