“Outrageous Fortune” looks like it will probably be the next No. 1 rental on the Billboard chart, whenever “Lethal Weapon” falters--which may not be for a few weeks. “Ishtar,” the much-maligned Warren Beatty-Dustin Hoffman comedy, debuted at No. 23. There’s a lot of interest in its rental chart performance. Because of an expensive ad campaign, it’s one of those box-office bombs that’s expected to do well in the rental market. “White Christmas” is No. 12 on the sales chart, which measures sales to retailers and distributors. Stores look like they are stocking up on this perennial holiday favorite. “Lady and the Tramp” is still No. 1 on the sales chart. It also heads the kidvid chart, with “An American Tail” and “Sleeping Beauty” right behind it. The Grateful Dead’s “So Far” tops the music video sales chart.

* This “Superman” wasn’t super box office but, because of the star value and fan familiarity with this adventure series, the fourth episode looks like it will be a hit rental. It debuted at No. 14 and could be in the Top 10 next week.
