Officials of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers are expected to announce Tuesday the results of a membership vote on a proposed three-year contract with CBS. Even though union officials don’t like the pact’s provisions, union president John Barry has recommended that the union’s 1,500 CBS members accept it, because he thinks it’s the best they’ll get. However, some union locals, including the Los Angeles Chapter, aren’t making any recommendations on the CBS offer. The network’s previous contract with the electrical workers expired on Sept. 30, but union members continued to work, pending developments.
