Former Ohio State football Coach Earle Bruce...
Former Ohio State football Coach Earle Bruce will accept the head coaching job at the University of Kansas if a satisfactory financial package can be worked out, the Wichita Eagle Beacon reported.
The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch earlier reported Bruce is known to want a contract matching the five-year $300,000 annual guarantee the University of Arizona offered him in January. Bruce turned down that offer to remain at Ohio State.
Meanwhile, Ted Tollner, an assistant coach with the Buffalo Bills and former head coach at USC, said he remains interested in the job and would travel to Lawrence in the next few days if Athletic Director Bob Frederick calls him.
