Hawkins Scores 39, Leads Bradley to Win
Hersey Hawkins scored 39 points Sunday, including 15-of-15 free throws, to lead Bradley to an 84-78 victory over Northern Illinois.
The score was tied at halftime, 41-41, but Bradley (3-0) built a 17-point lead in the first seven minutes of the second half.
The Huskies (1-4) battled back and a 17-foot jumper by Rodney Davis whittled the Braves’ lead to four points with 2:04 left before Bradley sank four free throws to wrap up the victory.
Davis scored 23 points for Northern Illinois.
