James Garner and James Woods showed up at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel Sunday to pluck two Golden Apple awards at the Hollywood Women’s Press Club’s 47th annual ceremony. The two were honored as best male stars in “Promise,” last year’s Emmy-winning CBS/”Hallmark Hall of Fame” special. Other winners: Oprah Winfrey, best female star; Kevin Costner and Charlie Sheen, co-winners of the male newcomer award. No-show Bruce Willis won the organization’s Sour Apple award--given each year to the person portraying the worst image of Hollywood.
