Alhambra : County Workers Moving In
The county Department of Public Works has begun moving its headquarters to a 12-story building in Alhambra that was formerly occupied by Sears.
County officials said employees will be relocated to the building at 900 S. Fremont Ave. over several months, with the final move to be completed next summer.
The county purchased the building from the Alexander Haagen Development Co. in June to consolidate Department of Public Works offices that were in two locations in the City of Los Angeles. The department is responsible for building and maintaining roads, bridges, airports, sewers and flood control facilities.
