FRESNO — A 15-year-old student was fatally shot from a passing car as he stood on the grounds at Roosevelt High School in southeast Fresno Thursday afternoon, police said.
The victim, Phong Nguyen, died at Valley Medical Center.
Officers were checking reports that Nguyen, a Vietnamese, had been in an argument with a non-student during the lunch hour.
Police said someone drove by the school about 3:15 p.m. and fired either a shotgun or rifle, hitting Nguyen in the face.
No suspects were arrested.
