$5.01 Hourly Pay Voted for 500 L.A. Workers
- Share via
The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously today for a policy to raise to $5.01 an hour the wages now paid to about 500 city employees, though more action is needed before the policy takes effect.
The proposal, sponsored by Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky, calls for the drafting of amendments to the current city salary ordinances for three particular job classifications. The amendments must then return to the council for another vote and be signed by Mayor Tom Bradley. No opposition is expected.
