Local News in Brief : Anaheim : Bank Fire Didn’t Damage Vault Contents

Share

The vault contents at Barclays Bank of California, at 320 Katella Way, were untouched by the Monday night fire that caused $350,000 worth of damage to the rest of the building.

Safety deposit boxes, money, records, signature cards and other items in the vault survived the blaze. Customers can gain access to the boxes Monday at the downtown Barclay branch, at 100 W. Lincoln Ave. in Anaheim.

The boxes were moved Friday under heavy security, said bank vice president Pat Campbell.

Campbell said the downtown branch has been besieged with calls from customers wanting to check on the condition of their safety deposit boxes.
