A Dream Come True, but It Was Unintentional

There’s a touch of irony in the mistake in the Lists of Dec. 6, which said that Dr. Les Horvath, the Glendale dentist and former Heisman Trophy winner, played for Notre Dame.
As a phenomenal high school player in Cleveland, Les was eagerly recruited by nearly every major college in the country. However, the only place he really wanted to go was Notre Dame. But, they broke his heart when they told him that, at 154 pounds, he was too small.
Les went on to show ‘em by becoming one of Ohio State’s greatest running backs, a consensus All-American and a worthy recipient of the Heisman. Today, he is a fine dentist and one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet.
