An NCAA investigation has resulted in 18 allegations of misconduct in the men’s basketball program at West Texas State, and the school’s athletic director, Bruce Grimes, says trying to compete in Division I may be to blame.
The allegations, released to the Division II school Wednesday, include recruiting violations and providing players with free airplane travel, free use of telephone credit cards and cash payments in 1984-86.
