Local News in Brief : Cypress : Classes in Graphics, Publishing to Be Held
Aided by a $203,811 state grant, Cypress College plans to offer spring semester classes in computer graphics and desk top publishing.
The grant is from the state Community College Chancellor’s Office.
The college campus will host two eight-week computer-graphic design classes, one starting Jan. 24 and the other April 11. According to instructor Michael Johnson, each class will also offer 24-hour internships with local companies to implement the skills students will learn using the computer as a design tool.
Officials said the state grant allowed the college to purchase the necessary equipment and to create 12 student work stations equipped for desk top publishing.
