CHANGES IN RTD BUS ROUTES

Starting Sunday , changes will take effect in the following RTD bus routes. Numbers denote bus lines; principal streets of routes are in parentheses.

2 & 3 (Sunset Boulevard): Additional service will be provided during the morning peak hours Monday-Friday westbound to Pacific Palisades and Westwood.

20 (Wilshire Boulevard-Santa Monica); 21 (Wilshire Boulevard-UCLA); 22 (Wilshire Boulevard-Century City-Brentwood); 320 (Wilshire Boulevard-Santa Monica Limited) and 322 (Wilshire Boulevard-Century City-Brentwood Limited): On Wilshire Boulevard, service will be adjusted to speed up travel for riders going longer distances. Limited-stop express Lines 320 and 322 will be increased in frequency, while the all-stop local lines--21 and 22--will be reduced in frequency. In addition, Local Line 20 will operate only during rush hours. With the change, more passengers are expected to ride local lines to express stops and then transfer. That will mean an added transfer cost of 10 cents for cash customers. Transfers are free to monthly pass riders.

26 (7th Street-Virgil Avenue-Franklin Avenue): Frequency remains the same during Monday-Friday rush periods, but buses will come five minutes later than formerly. Sunday service between Hawthorn and Highland avenues and Boyle Avenue and Olympic Boulevard will be changed from every 20 minutes to every 24 minutes, and between Virgil Avenue and Sunset Boulevard and 7th Street and Maple Avenue from every 10 minutes to every 12 minutes.

30 (West Pico Boulevard-East 1st Street-Floral Drive) and 31 (West Pico Boulevard-East 1st Street): Sunday service will change from every five minutes to every six minutes between Pico and Rimpau Boulevards and 1st and Rowan Streets; from every 15 minutes to every 18 minutes along Floral Drive to Atlantic Boulevard and Riggin Street, and from every 15 minutes to every 18 minutes along 1st Street to Atlantic Boulevard and Riggin Street.

51 (Compton Boulevard-Avalon Boulevard-San Pedro Street-West 7th Street) and 351 (Avalon Boulevard-Limited): Frequency of Sunday service will be changed from every 10 minutes to every 12 minutes between Avalon Boulevard and Manchester Avenue and 7th Street and New Hampshire Avenue. Extended service between Avalon Boulevard and Manchester Avenue and Compton Boulevard and Willowbrook Avenue will change from every 20 minutes to every 24 minutes between buses. On Route 351 limited service, the limited stop area will be changed. Line 351 buses will make all stops south of Century Boulevard and will continue to make only limited stops north of that point.

55 (Wilmington-Compton-Downtown Los Angeles): Frequency of service midday Monday-Friday will be changed between downtown Los Angeles and Greenleaf Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes.

56 (Carson-Wilmington Avenue-Los Angeles): Frequency of service Monday-Sunday during 7-11 p.m. will be changed from every 40 minutes to every 60 minutes.

76 (Los Angeles-El Monte via Valley Boulevard): Rush-hour service Monday-Friday will change from every nine minutes to every 10 minutes, and midday service will change from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes.

410 (Los Angeles-San Fernando Express): Additional service will be operated on Line 410 during morning peak hours, increasing in frequency from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes, and adding two additional afternoon peak-hour trips at 30-minute intervals.

158 (Devonshire Street-Woodman Avenue): Frequency of midday Monday-Friday service will be changed from every 35 minutes to every 60 minutes.

217 (Fairfax Avenue-Hollywood): Frequency of Monday-Saturday service along the entire line will be changed as follows: between Fairfax Avenue and Olympic Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, from every seven to eight minutes to every eight to 12 minutes; between the West Los Angeles Transit Center (Washington Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue) and Hollywood (Yucca Avenue and Gower Street), from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes. Service after 7 p.m. Monday-Sunday will be changed from every 20 minutes to every 20-30 minutes.

220 (Robertson Boulevard-Culver Boulevard-LAX): Frequency midday Monday-Friday service will be changed from every 30 minutes to every 60 minutes.

254 (120th Street-Gage Avenue-Lorena Street): Frequency of midday Monday-Friday service will be changed from every 30 minutes to every 60 minutes.

266 (Rosemead Boulevard-Lakewood Boulevard): Frequency of Monday-Saturday service will be changed from every 40 minutes to every 30 minutes.

420 (Los Angeles-Van Nuys-Panorama City Express): Owl/all-night service will be extended to Panorama City.

444 (Los Angeles-West Torrance-Rolling Hills-Rancho Palos Verdes): Frequency of Saturday service along Hawthorne Boulevard between Artesia Boulevard and Palos Verdes Drive South (Pt. Vicente) will be changed from every 40 minutes to every 30 minutes. Frequency of Saturday service between the South Bay Galleria and downtown Los Angeles will change from every 40 minutes to every 60 minutes.
