College Basketball : Hardman’s 24 Lift Moorpark Past Dixie, 65-59
Karina Hardman scored 24 points and had nine rebounds to lead Moorpark to a 65-59 consolation victory over Dixie in the Scottsdale tournament in Arizona.
Hardman has scored more than 20 points in six consecutive games.
Moorpark (7-9) played without 5-10 1/2 center Remera Jones, who missed the game because of personal reasons. The Raiders used a full-court press throughout the second half to compensate for their lack of height.
Valley College 69, El Camino 36--The Monarchs switched to a man-to-man defense in the second half, forcing nine turnovers and making 14 steals. Valley’s Dametra Johnson scored a game-high 20 points. Teammate Bernadette Tillis added 16 and seven assists. The Monarchs made 17 of 32 shots in the second half.
