A’s Sign Hubbard for 1 Year, Plus Option
The Oakland Athletics have signed free-agent veteran second baseman Glenn Hubbard to a contract for this season, plus an option year, the club announced Monday.
Hubbard, 30, hit a career-high .264 for the Atlanta Braves last season, including 33 doubles and 77 walks. The Athletics did not reveal other terms of the contract.
In 141 games with the Braves last season, Hubbard had an on-base percentage of .378. The 10-year veteran led major league second baseman in turning double plays with 114.
