Beth Beglin, Sheryl Johnson and Marcy Place von Schottenstein--all former Olympic medalists--head the 16-player U.S. women’s field hockey team that will compete in the Seoul Summer Olympics.
The squad, selected by the national coaching staff following a selection camp at Rutgers University, was announced by the U.S. Field Hockey Assn.
Beglin and Johnson were 1980 and 1984 Olympians while Von Schottenstein competed in 1984. The 1984 team won a bronze medal.
