When Maryland’s basketball program hit rock bottom, there was speculation it might take a decade for the rebuilding. Coach Bob Wade has done it in just over a year.

Derrick Lewis powered home a dunk with 24 seconds left Saturday night, and the Terrapins upset seventh-ranked Duke, 72-69, at Durham, N.C.

“This win is just tremendous for us,” Wade said. “The biggest thing about it is that it came on the road against a team that is ranked No. 7 in the country.”
