Two alleged drunk drivers crashed head-on Sunday, killing a passenger in one of the cars, after one of the drivers sped the wrong way on the Foothill Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.

Anibal Espana, 30, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and felony drunk driving after the 3 a.m. collision on the Foothill Freeway east of Lincoln Avenue in Pasadena. CHP Officer Monty Keifer said Espana was driving west in the eastbound lanes when he collided with a car driven by David Anorve, 25, of South Pasadena.

A passenger in Anorve’s car, a 28-year-old Pasadena man, was killed in the collision. His name was withheld until relatives could be notified. Anorve was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving.
