Harassment
The article headed “Sexual Harassment in City Workplace: a Clarification” (Metro, Jan. 12) implies the Commission on the Status of Women and Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley will be able to accomplish what lexicographers, philosophers, legalists, constitutionalists, theologians, and Supreme Court justices have been unable to do with “pornography.”
I certainly know a “leer” when I see one, but Webster does not do it justice (pun intended) with “to look askance or obliquely conveying an immodest suggestion.”
I doubt if all the lawyers in this country, or at least those who believe they are the reincarnation of Solomon, with half of them on either side of the issue could come up with a solution that would satisfy even one person.
