Johnny Gee, who pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Giants from 1939 through 1946 and also played for the former Syracuse Nationals of the National Basketball Assn., died Saturday at his home in Cortland, N.Y. He was 72. Gee, who was 6-9, is the tallest man ever to play major league baseball.
