Local News in Brief : Gunshot Hits School Bus
A rifle shot shattered the windshield of a Compton Unified School District bus carrying 50 students from Dominguez High School to their homes, authorities said. There were no injuries, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Eric Eshelman said.
There were no suspects in custody and deputies have not determined a motive for the shooting, Eshelman said. Witnesses told reporters there had been yelling between some bus passengers and four youths on the sidewalk before the shooting at Castlegate and Rosecrans avenues in the East Compton area.
