The death of a Stanton man found Friday behind the steering wheel of his burned car is being investigated as an apparent suicide, authorities said.

The body of Riley Douglas Marshall, 24, was found when firefighters received a 7:35 a.m. call of a car on fire in the rear parking lot of a textbook warehouse in the 12100 block of Knott Street near Chapman Avenue, said Garden Grove Police Lt. Ken Whitman.

The fire gutted the trunk of the 1986 Subaru and the rear passenger compartment before firefighters extinguished the blaze, Whitman said. Inside, they found the man’s unburned body. There was no evidence of foul play, Whitman said.
