A teen-age baby-sitter was arrested Saturday on suspicion of killing a 3-month-old boy who was under her care, police said.

El Monte firefighters and police officers were called Thursday morning when the baby, Brian Hanson, stopped breathing. The infant was taken to Greater El Monte Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:55 a.m., Officer J. Alley said.

The infant died of “blunt force trauma to the head,” Alley said.

A 14-year-old girl was arrested Saturday and taken to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, where she was held without bail on suspicion of murder and felony child endangerment, Lt. Mark Gibboney said.
