Pacific 10 Roundup : Stanford Races to 96-63 Win Over Arizona State
Howard Wright scored 20 points, and Stanford trounced Arizona State, 96-63, Saturday in a Pacific 10 Conference game at Palo Alto.
The Cardinal (15-7, 7-4) went on a 16-5 run to build a 46-26 lead with 1:45 left in the first half, and Arizona State (13-8, 6-5) didn’t challenge again.
Wright scored eight straight points in the first three minutes of the second half as Stanford increased the lead to 62-34 lead with 15 minutes left.
Derek Bruton and Todd Lichti each added 14 for Stanford. Tarenze Wheeler scored 13 for the Sun Devils.
Washington State 61, Washington 52--David Sanders scored 26 points, and the Cougars turned back the Huskies at Pullman, Wash.
Sanders made 5 of 8 shots from three-point range and was 7 of 13 overall. He shot 7 for 8 from the line and also grabbed 6 rebounds. Brian Wright added 12 points for the Cougars (9-9, 5-5).
Mark West scored 19 points for the Huskies (6-13, 2-8), who pulled within 42-38 with 7:45 left but could get no closer.
