Virgil Harris scored 16 points, and New Mexico State snapped a four-game losing streak Saturday night with a 77-59 victory over San Jose State in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game at Las Cruces, N.M.
The Aggies (13-11) outscored San Jose State, 18-2, in the final five minutes of the first half to take a 40-24 lead on the way to snapping a four-game losing streak.
Ricky Berry, the leading scorer in the PCAA, led the Spartans (10-10, 5-6) with 20 points, five points below his average, and San Jose lost its third straight game.
New Mexico State got 15 points from reserve center Curtis Terrell, 14 from Johnny Roberson and 11 each from Willie Joseph and Jeff McCool.
Fresno State 74, Pacific 65--Jervis Cole scored 20 points at Fresno as the Bulldogs handed the Tigers their 15th straight conference defeat in a late game Friday night.
Cole scored eight straight points to give Fresno State (6-13, 3-7) a 73-55 lead with 6:20 left.
Domingo Rosario scored with 21 points for Pacific (5-15, 0-10).
