Los Angeles County residents who plan to run for political office in the June 7 primary election can file nomination papers with the registrar-recorder’s office starting Monday, officials said.

Although most government offices will be closed Monday for the Presidents Day holiday, the registrar-recorder’s office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accept nomination papers, said spokeswoman Marcia Ventura.

Candidates may file for both partisan and nonpartisan offices, including races for U.S. Senate, Congress, state Senate, state Assembly, district attorney, county supervisor and various Superior and Municipal court judgeships. Candidates for various political party county central committees may also file their nomination papers.
