Long Beach Women Rout Irvine, 101-41
Penny Toler scored 22 points, and 14th-ranked Cal State Long Beach trounced UC Irvine, 101-41, Thursday night in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. women’s basketball game at Long Beach.
The 49ers (13-5 overall, 10-0 in the PCAA) led, 20-19, with 10:11 left in the first half but scored the next 29 points and held the Anteaters (8-12, 6-6) scoreless for 9 1/2 minutes.
Shannon Smith added 15 points, and Carol Brandt had 9 points and 11 rebounds for Cal State Long Beach.
Cheryl Eiland scored 19 points for Irvine.
