Jerry Colangelo, president of the Phoenix Suns, still irate over a referee’s call that may have cost his team a victory over the Boston Celtics last week, says he plans to propose the use of instant replays at National Basketball Assn. games during the league’s next Board of Governors’ meeting.
“When there is a highly contested call, it is not enough to say it was a judgment call and let it go,” Colangelo said.
In last Monday night’s Suns-Celtics game, Phoenix guard Jeff Horancek was called for a controversial blocking foul with three seconds to play by referee Jim Capers. Boston guard Danny Ainge sank two free throws for a 107-106 victory.
