Long Beach : Vicious-Dog Law Revised

Share

The Long Beach City Council on Tuesday is expected to once again decide on a proposed law that would make owners of vicious dogs liable for the actions of their pets. A council committee this week forwarded a revised proposal to the council after minor tinkering with the ordinance.

The revised ordinance that the council’s Legislation Committee is recommending is similar to one the council rejected last month. The differences in this proposal include dropping a recommendation to create an ordinance relating to guard and sentry dogs and adding a recommendation to increase the fine for breaking the leash law from $20 to $50.
