Jeff Taggart, the Canisius College basketball player who suffered a seizure during the game against Niagara Saturday night, died of cardiac arrest just as he entered a Buffalo hospital’s emergency room, according to Dr. John Gabbey, the team physician.
But questions about delays in getting Taggart onto a stretcher and out of Memorial Auditorium and about what caused the fatal heart attack surfaced as the small Catholic school attempted to cope with the tragedy. An investigation is under way.
