A weekend of college basketball action will culminate Sunday with the announcement of the 64 teams receiving the coveted invitations to play in the NCAA Tournament.

Tim Brant of CBS will report on the pairings from Kansas City, Mo., in a tape-delayed telecast Sunday at 3:30 p.m. (2).

Prior to that half-hour program, college basketball fans can catch a number of regional games airing on commercial and cable TV. Some 14 matchups are on tap today, including the PCAA championship, which will be shown live at 2 p.m. (56)(63). It will be joined in progress at 3 p.m. on ESPN cable and shown again at 5 p.m. on Prime Ticket cable.

Among the tournament championships being played Sunday are those involving the Atlantic Coast Conference (10 a.m., Channels 4, 36, 39); the Southeastern Conference (11 a.m., Channels 7, 3, 10, 42); the Big East (11:30 a.m., Channels 2, 8); the Big Eight (1 p.m., Channel 7) and the Pac-10 (1:30 p.m., Channel 2 and on ABC affiliates Channels 3 and 10 at 1 p.m.).

In pro basketball, Los Angeles and Dallas meet again following last Sunday’s easy Lakers’ win over the Mavericks at Reunion Arena. Tonight’s site is the Forum, with tip-off at 8 on Prime Ticket and SelecTV.

CBS will have its eye on the Boston Celtics as Larry Bird and company challenge Dominique Wilkins and the Atlanta Hawks Sunday at 9 a.m. (2)(8).

From Florida come two exhibition games between the Dodgers and Atlanta Braves. The teams can be seen today at 10:30 a.m. on WTBS cable and Sunday at 10:25 a.m. on Channel 11.

Rounding out a busy weekend, the Kings and St. Louis Blues play on the Forum ice Sunday at 7:30 p.m. on Prime Ticket.
