PARTY FAVORS: Michael Jackson was so bummed after being shut out in the Grammys that he didn’t even bother to make a brief fly-by of CBS Records’ post-awards party (a party where the press is pointedly not invited). However, there was plenty of celebrity activity elsewhere. A&M; Records threw a colorful bash downtown at the trendy Canal Bar, where you could bump into a delightfully eclectic crowd, including Tama Janowitz, Iggy Pop, Robbie Robertson, playwright Harvey Fierstein, Suzanne Vega, reclusive popster Patti Smith, Raffi, comics Steven Wright and Billy Crystal and most of R.E.M. . . . Uptown, RCA Records countered with a high-profile party of its own at a trio of restaurants around Rockefeller Center. Decorations included an ice sculpture of Nipper, the RCA mascot, while entertainment was provided by Jo Jo Starbuck, who skated around the Center’s ice rink to music from the label’s hit “Dirty Dancing” sound track. And yes--somehow a host of stars managed to crash the affair, including Liza Minnelli, actors Christopher Walken and Patrick Swayze, writer Jay McInerney, director Paul Schrader, party guy David Johansen and hotshot producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
