The Lazers defeated a visibly tired Dallas team, 7-2, Sunday afternoon in a Major League Indoor Soccer game at the Forum before a crowd of 5,111.

Dallas, which lost in San Diego Saturday night, 2-1, fell behind 1-0 on Paul Childs’ goal, 2:23 into the first period before tying the game early in the second period on Wes Mcleod’s shot.

The Lazers took a halftime lead when Chris Cheuden, coming down the left side, rifled the ball into the far side of the net with four minutes remaining in the second period.

Thompson Usiyan added a goal in the third period before Chico Borja scored three fourth-period goals to put the game out of Dallas’ reach. Jim Gaberra added a meaningless empty-net goal to close out the Lazers’ scoring.

“We need to talk to the league, this is too much for any team,” Dallas Coach Gordon Jago said of the schedule. “I tend to judge things on how I feel, and I feel tired.”

Backup goalkeeper A.J. Lachowicke improved his record to 9-4 as the Lazers’ record improved to 21-21. Dallas is 22-22.

The Lazers play host to Kansas City Tuesday night.
