Boulevard Woman Killed in I-8 Crash

A 23-year-old Boulevard woman was killed Saturday when her pickup truck overturned on Interstate 8 near the Cameron overpass in eastern San Diego County, authorities said.

Robin Elaine Sprott was westbound on I-8 at 1:40 p.m. and was declared dead at the scene at 2:32 p.m., said the California Highway Patrol, which was investigating. While negotiating a curve, the vehicle went off the edge of the road and the driver lost control, the CHP said, adding that the truck eventually smashed into the center divider and overturned several times, ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt.
