San Diego
A fire started by an overheated compressor motor Monday night caused $60,000 in damage to Beanies Lobby bar in downtown San Diego, a Fire Department spokeswoman said.
Firefighters, responding to the 9:10 p.m. call at the bar at 807 Broadway, found smoke and fire in the attic, the spokeswoman said.
Firefighter Charles Mullen suffered a minor leg injury when he fell through a ceiling, the spokeswoman said. He was treated at the scene and returned to work.
The bar was closed at the time of the fire and there were no other injuries, the spokeswoman said.
