Local News in Brief : Man Dies in Gang Attack

A Carson man standing in a San Pedro parking lot with several gang members was shot and killed by a gunman who opened fire after an exchange of gang slogans with the group, officials said Monday.
Robert Devoux, 23, was struck by a bullet in the chest at a parking lot at Peck Park at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, police said. He was pronounced dead on arrival at San Pedro Peninsula Hospital.
As the gunman drove away, “someone from the group with the victim fired a gun at the fleeing suspect,” a police spokesman said.
