The 60th Annual Academy Awards broadcast live tonight on KABC-TV Channel 7 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The show, hosted by Chevy Chase, includes a Michael Kidd-choreographed number based on “I Hope I Get It” from “Chorus Line,” a medley of five nominated songs introduced by Liza Minnelli and Dudley Moore, and a film montage saluting the awards’ last 60 years. Director-writer Billy Wilder will receive the Irving Thalberg Award. Among presenters: Cher, Glenn Close, Sean Connery, Michael Douglas and Robin Williams (all nominees themselves), and Nicolas Cage, Kevin Costner, Billy Crystal, Olivia de Havilland, Mel Gibson, Audrey Hepburn, Anjelica Huston, Jack Lemmon, Marlee Matlin, Eddie Murphy, Paul Newman and Tom Selleck.
