A passenger in a car that was pulled over in Southeast San Diego early Wednesday fired two shotgun blasts at a police officer that missed, a police spokesman said.
Officer Allen Sluss, who was alone in his patrol car, stopped two men about 3:30 a.m. near Central Avenue and Landis Street, Robinson said. The car had no license plates.
A man in the passenger side stuck his head out the window and fired two shots at the officer with what the officer believed was a double-barreled shotgun, Robinson said, adding that the officer was not hurt and there was no damage to the cruiser.
Sluss returned to his car and chased the automobile before losing it near Dwight Street and Marlborough Avenue in North Park, Robinson said.
