Davila Wins a Decision Over Contreras in 12
Albert Davila of Pomona knocked down Gil Contreras of Dallas in the eighth round and went on to win a 12-round decision for the vacant North American Boxing Federation bantamweight title Thursday night at the Forum.
The fans booed the decision. The fight was scored 115-114 by judge Art Laurie of Nevada, 115-113 by Lou Moret of California and 115-114 by James Jen-Kin of California.
