Local News in Brief : Child Molester Sought
Los Angeles police Friday were seeking a neatly dressed man with a briefcase who molested an 11-year-old girl in Reseda after posing as a parent and stalking children at schools.
“This is an unusual method of operation,” Detective Joe Diglio said. “It appears he had done this before. He was very bold in posing as a parent to select a victim.”
Police circulated a composite drawing of the man in the area and warned residents and school officials of the problem. The girl was abducted April 5 near her home as she walked back from her private school, which police declined to identify.
Earlier that day, the man had posed as a parent at a Reseda junior high school and followed another girl home, Diglio said. He tried to enter her home but was unsuccessful, the detective said.
Police described the gray-haired man as neatly dressed, carrying a briefcase and wearing glasses. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs between 160 and 170 pounds and is between 45 and 55.
