Official’s Response to School’s Need
The Saddleback Valley Unified School District expresses its thanks to Orange County Supervisor Gaddi Vasquez for his efforts to correct a dangerous traffic situation that exists at Serrano Intermediate School in Lake Forest. There have been a number of pedestrian, bicycle and automobile accidents on Jeronimo Road in front of the school due to heavy traffic.
Upon receiving a phone call from the school district alerting him to the problem, Vasquez was out to the school almost immediately.
The Board of Supervisors has recommended the installation of a pedestrian-activated traffic signal and a left-turn pocket into the school parking lot. The parking stalls within the parking lot will be modified to accommodate a loading zone for student pick-up and drop-off.
Thanks again to Vasquez for his prompt attention to this important concern. We’re all grateful for his interest in our children’s safety.
