A fire that started after a lamp fell onto bedding destroyed a Ramona house early Saturday, a San Diego Fire Department spokeswoman said.

None of the four persons in the single-family residence on Abalar Way were hurt, but destruction was complete, with an estimated $250,000 in damages, the spokeswoman said.

Firefighters from Ramona and San Pasqual worked for more than an hour to douse the fire, she said. The San Diego department handles radio dispatching for the Ramona department.
