Former Occidental Cornerback at Raider Tryout
Former Occidental College cornerback Todd Stoney was one of approximately 75 players participating in the Raiders’ three-day mini-camp that concluded Thursday at the team’s El Segundo headquarters.
Stoney was signed as a free agent earlier this month after being bypassed in the NFL draft. “A couple of other teams gave me calls, but I’ve always been a Raiders fan, plus it’s close to home, so I decided to sign with them,” said Stoney, a graduate of San Marcos High in Santa Barbara.
Stoney was a four-time All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection at Occidental.
He is expected to participate in another mini-camp (May 23-27) that also will include veterans.
Rookies and free agents are scheduled to report to training camp in Oxnard on July 15.
